This is the launch of a bimonthly newsletter distributed exclusively to the members of the Jacaranda Writers Group. Your comments, announcements, opinions are welcome and encouraged. If you would like to include something in the newsletter, email it to Louise. Please do not attach a document to your email. Include your article in the body of the email message.
Our group's web site is a donated by a member of our group. You can access the site at the domain http://acuitygroup.org. Bookmark so you can get to it easily. The name is a bit strange given the name of our group, but it's free for Pete's sake.
Previously, each member received an email with their username and password. You will need these to login to the Members Forum. For simplicity, both username and password are the same. It's suggested that you change your password when you login. If you have trouble, contact Roger for help.
Members of our group can access the Members Forum from the main menu of the site. It's a great place to discuss ideas, offer work for comments, or just chat. It is open only to members of our group on an invitation only basis. No information is shared outside our group. There's a lot of features the Forum offers. Don't be timid. Experiment with it and have fun.
Tuesday's meeting was amazing. Louise's short story, "One Fine Day", and Morgen's journal entries, "The Urban Dance" and "Chinese Characters", were reviewed. We also gained a new member, David. Welcome to our group.
Also note that Morgen has passed the facilitator's baton to Louise. Congratulations. Work to be submitted to the group for discussion should be sent to Louise as an attachment in Microsoft Word DOC format.
Our next meeting will be at the Rendezvous Cafe on January 19th starting at 5:30 PM and ending at 7:00 PM. The cafe is on Route 41 By Pass (Tamiami Trail) in Venice in the Galleria Stadium 12 strip mall. We hope to see you there.
